Contents
This course will go with lectures for the 'galaxies and the universe' part and with student classroom reports for the 'solar system' part. I will lecture on the solar system as an introduction, and students will then report various planets, comets, asteroids, etc., in groups formed at the beginning of the semester.
Lectures on 'galaxies and the universe' will go in parallel with these classroom reports.
No midterm.
The final exam is an open-any-book one covering all the lecture chapters.

Lectures will go in this order:
Ch13. The Solar System and Extrasolar Planets
Ch14. Our Milky Way Galaxy
Ch15. Galaxies
Ch16. Active Galaxies
Ch17. Cosmology
Student classroom reports will proceed in parallel with lectures.
